consider it pure joy…

I have been really going through a hard time lately and have been reading James. This verse in James chapter 1 just baffles me. Verses 2-4 say “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” I just really don’t understand how someone could have written this. When we are in a rut, it seems almost impossible to declare something like this. It almost makes you wonder how this writer was able to write such a simple, yet profound statement.

I honestly think this writer understood that God was bigger than his issues. He was bigger than the things that were surrounding him. I believe that as you allow God to be bigger in your life, you end up viewing the former “mountains” or issues in your life, as small, and insignificant.

I know this isn’t something you can do right away….it’s something that takes time. You have to continually be reminded of how big God really is, and how powerful the cross is. Thank God for grace, and peace. Until next time…
