This verse is the verse I stopped on tonight. It says “as a dog returns to his own vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.”
As humans we really tend to make the mistakes over an over and over again. The devil knows exactly what makes us tick and knows the ways to make us sin. Not just once. But continually. This is where we as children of the most high God must draw a line in the sand and say: “enemy you can go this far but no further.” I don’t know about you but my past disgusts me. I appreciate it in one way because of the fact that God can use my testimony to bring people out of the same sin. But I just hate that I’ve made those mistakes in the first place.
Today I choose not to “return to my own vomit.” I choose to die to myself, pick up my cross, and follow Jesus. I choose to honor Jesus with my life today. I want to know him more and to make him known to other people. I want to be the one God uses.
